The Role

We are looking for a Tool & Die Technician who will be responsible for performing mechanical and electrical trouble shooting, breaking down and repairing plastic injection molds.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of a Tool & Die Technician include, but are not limited to:

  • Understand and follow the technician instructions.
  • Perform machine and quality checks as outlined in the tool room instructions.
  • Keep tool area and machines clean and maintained.
  • Break down and reassemble moulds.
  • Maintain good communication with team members.
  • Troubleshoot and repair moulds.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and version changes.
  • Understand the job responsibilities in order to perform, monitor and control the process as it affects quality.
  • Follow all procedures and work instructions pertaining to your assignment and make recommendations to improve the process.
  • Appropriately record problems or non-conformances to ensure corrective action and preventive measures are taken.
  • Notify the supervisor immediately when problems or non-conformances are detected.
  • Assist in problem-solving process, corrective action and prevention activities.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Tool & Die Technician are:

  • Minimum Education – High School diploma or GED
  • Must be well organized.
  • Must have machinist experience.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a forklift license.
  • Must be proficient in the use of measuring gauges.
  • Must be able to frequently bend and lift parts for up to 12 hours.
  • Must be able to pull up to 150 lbs with a hand truck.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs over your head.
