The Role

SPIE UK, a smart engineering and technology-driven solutions provider for the built environment, are looking for a Business Assistant to provide efficient operations and administrative support to the Specialist Services teams to ensure the smooth running of the relevant office(s), sites and project activities.

The successful candidate will focus on the expected team behaviours for achieving significant results and outcomes for the business, helping SPIE to maintain its leading edge status within the industry and our reputation with our customers.

The key responsibilities of a Business Assistant include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the Head of Operations for EE/MSS and providing general administrative duties for Specialist Services to provide consistency across the business as directed by Line Manager.
  • Perform general administration duties, including typing up letters, minutes, presentations and tender documents and assist in the preparation and reviewing of operational documentation in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Provide a competent administration service in order to support all team members being able to utilise their time in an efficient and cost-effective way, including maintaining data and prompting team members to provide up-to-date information, ensuring the accuracy of any such information provided.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Business Assistant:

  • Experience of working as an Administrator in the Construction industry.
  • Excellent computer literacy skills- must have excellent working knowledge of Microsoft      Office Suite and the ability to quickly pick up and use any other software systems as necessary.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Self-starter; task and results-oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Document Control/Management principles.
  • A clear understanding of working methods and procedures applicable to the industry and role.
