PHP Developer – £32,000 to £45,000 – Manchester City Centre

The Role

Do you have at least 2 years’ commercial experience within with PHP in a development capacity? If so, an opportunity has risen for an ambitious PHP Developer at a vibrant, established brand who are a solution provider operating within the Financial Services sector.

The successful candidate for this software development position would suit someone able to work on their own initiative, but wanting to grow and manage a team of developers in the long term.

The key responsibilities of a PHP Developer include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting rigorous analysis of PHP and other code, continually brainstorming with the development team with ideas for improvement.
  • Developing and optimising the database using your technical knowledge; Testing and debugging existing code.
  • Performing maintenance of code when required, ensuring all code is valid and consistent across all applications.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a PHP Developer:

  • Essential: at least 2 years of commercial experience within with PHP in a development capacity, Commercial experience of using CSS/HTML within a front end development capacity, Backend database development experience.
  • Experience within backend software development (80%), front end software development (20%).
  • Exposure to developing application integration solutions.
  •  Experience working with Relational Database Management Systems (RDMS), and using Angular.
  • Background working with Application Programming Interface (API)
  • An understanding of financial services or a highly transactional environment is ideal but not essential.
