We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role involves performing various maintenance, repair, and construction tasks across streets, parks, and buildings. You will work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring our facilities are safe and well-maintained.

Note: Even though this position covers streets, parks and facilities, the role will primarily be in the Parks Division of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, repair, construction, and installation work in streets, buildings, and park facilities.
• Maintain Town parks, restrooms, picnic tables, benches, parking lots, walking paths, trees, landscape areas, and open space areas.
• Provide weed control through herbicide application and mechanical removal at Town facilities.
• Conduct general landscaping, plumbing, and construction duties throughout Town.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools, as well as heavy equipment like backhoes, street sweepers, and aerial lifts.
• Assist with Town-sponsored functions and special events.
• Respond to after-hours callouts as assigned.

The Person

• Experience: Minimum six months of work experience in construction, maintenance, or landscape work for entry-level; one year for advanced level.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications: Ability to obtain a valid class C California driver’s license. For advanced level, must obtain Qualified Applicators Certification and Playground Safety Inspection Certificate within 18 months.
• Skills: Ability to perform maintenance tasks, operate tools and equipment, work independently and in a team, and communicate effectively.
