The Role

Are you skilled in deciphering complex cost structures and intricate tender information?  Can you effectively utilise software tools like Microsoft Dynamics Estimating to streamline your workflow? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

 As an Estimator, the successful candidates’ responsibilities will involve reviewing tender information with precision and attention to detail. You will collaborate closely with Heads of Sales/Account Managers to strategize effective approaches, obtain accurate board prices, and generate comprehensive calculations. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating and organizing price files efficiently, evaluating sample data and drawings with Operations, and maintaining an up-to-date enquiry database. Your keen eye for detail will enable you to identify cost-saving opportunities and propose improvements.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and review tender information.
  • Liaise with HOS/Acc Mgrs regarding approach.
  • Obtain Board Prices.
  • Generate calculations.
  • Generate price files.
  • Collate samples/drawings and review speeds with Ops.
  • Maintain Enquiry database.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities.
  • Review and set prices with Head of Sales/Account Manager.
  • Mentor team members and assign responsibilities.
  • Ensure other department responsibilities are fulfilled appropriately.
  • Review post calculation with Finance Team.

The Person

  • Extensive knowledge of all production processes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the cost structure.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Estimating or other Estimating packages.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work independently as well as working alongside a team.
  • Educated to A level standard.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
