Site Manager – Competitive Salary – North West

The Role

SPIE UK, a smart engineering and technology-driven solutions provider for the built environment, are looking for a Site Manager to take responsibility for all site works primarily focused in the North West and North East, alongside other sites across the UK when needed.  

The successful candidate will establish and manage a site workforce capable of working to the SPIE standards in a safe and diligent manner, to the highest possible standard, on time and in line with predetermined costs.

The key responsibilities of a Site Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervise and co-ordinate staff, sub-contractors, material suppliers and third parties to ensure an efficient method of build to the required build quality and build programme.
  • Scheduling work to be carried out to ensure programme targets are achieved and high quality of end product is maintained whilst keeping to budget.
  • Effective performance reporting.
  • Ensuring all aspects of CDM2015 are strictly followed.
  • Comply with CDM/HSE Site Managers responsibilities.
  • Liaise with end users and clients to ensure the highest possible customer care satisfaction and complete all relevant inspections and documentation.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Site Manager:

  • Essential: CIOB or equivalent in Construction Management; SMSTS; HNC / HND / Degree or above in electrical, mechanical or a construction discipline.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of building fabric and M&E works/systems.
  • Excellent knowledge of the current CDM regulations and Principal Contractor role.
  •  Awareness of asbestos, legionella and fire safety regulations.
  •  Technical report writing experience.
  •  Excellent technical knowledge.
  • Ability to manage small to medium sized projects up to £3m.
