Payroll Officer – Competitive – Rutherglen (Fixed term contract)

The Role

SPIE UK, a smart engineering and technology-driven solutions provider for the built environment, are looking for a Payroll Officerto take shared responsibility for the administration and management of the payroll function via our outsourced Payroll Bureau service provider.

Acting as the central point of contact for Payroll services, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of weekly and monthly payroll transactions.

The key responsibilities of a Payroll Officerinclude, but are not limited to:

  • Processing of weekly timesheets, pay rates and welfare benefits.
  • Manage the weekly and monthly end to end payroll processes including reconciliations of payroll reports prior to BACs transmission.
  • Ensuring all employment, pension and third-party payments are made correctly and on time in conjunction with the outsourced providers.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Payroll Officer:

  • Experience in delivering end to end weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Knowledge and experience of integrated HR and Payroll systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel.
  • Desirable: experience of managing payrolls within construction industry, recognised payroll qualification, experience of iTrent or similar payroll system and Business Objects Reporting.
