Maintenance & Grounds Assistant Hallfield School, Edgbaston, Birmingham £20,991 - £23,681 per annum dependent on experience, skills and qualifications 40 hrs per week – 08:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday (with the need to be flexible to occasionally work outside these hours as required) 30 days’ annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays. Free onsite parking, access to onsite gym facilities and free lunch during term time. The Role Hallfield School is seeking to appoint a skilled Maintenance & Grounds Assistant to assist with day to day maintenance and compliance of the School estate. This is an integral role within the Estates team and the successful candidate must be confident to lead and complete projects such as erection of studwork, minor alterations and refurbishment tasks. With an emphasis on Carpentry tasks the role would suit someone with City & Guilds in Carpentry and Joinery. NVQ Level 2 or above in Carpentry would also be advantageous. In addition to Carpentry, multi-trade skills such as bricklaying and plastering would be highly desirable. The role offers a varied day, within a busy environment, covering maintenance, grounds work and compliance checks and testing. It would suit an individual who takes pride in their work, is able to show initiative whilst working supportively and flexibly within a team.
