The Role

Do you have a background in behavioral sciences and experience in group facilitation? Are you skilled at working with diverse communities and leading educational programs? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

In this role, as a Life Connections Life Coach, you will support participants in personal development, addiction recovery, and corrective thinking. You will coordinate program components, lead workshops, and provide guidance using the Life Connections Program (LCP) curriculum.

This is a part-time, contract 1099 vacancy.

Contract= TBA, 30 Hours per week.

Position is contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction based on core curriculum materials.
  • Foster relationships with diverse religious communities, including Protestant, Pagan, Catholic, Muslim, Buddhist, and Jewish groups.
  • Facilitate study groups, educational classes, and addiction recovery workshops.
  • Develop lesson plans tailored to participants from various backgrounds.
  • Lead participants through a criminal thinking/corrective thinking course (Truthought).
  • Maintain records of student participation and progress, providing reports to the LCP Chaplain.
  • Assist in pre-course work and aftercare for program participants.
  • Work closely with the Chaplain Program Manager and other staff to develop the program and assess participant progress.
  • Attend all required training by the Bureau of Prisons.

The Person

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminology, addictions studies, counselling, psychology, or another behavioral science is preferred.

Experience:

  • Strong communication skills, including public speaking and group facilitation.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks and coordinating activities with different groups.
  • Background in addiction recovery and behavioral change is beneficial.
