System Administrator – Salary £25 - 50k (based on experience) – London.

The Role

Do you have multidisciplinary knowledge of system administration, particularly networking, Linux and Windows? Do you think of "127.0.0.1" every time you hear the word "home"?

If so, a leading information security consultancy are looking for a System Administrator. The successful candidate will join one of the most exciting companies in the offensive security industry. As one of the best team of hackers in the world, we require our infrastructure to work like a Swiss clock.

The key responsibilities of a System Administrator include, but are not limited to:

  • Networking and directory services.
  • Configuration of Linux-based directory services.
  • Configuration of servers and services for file sharing, virtualization, email, etc.
  • Thee support and integration of a number of users running MS Windows.
  • Enhancing and demonstrating working knowledge of business continuity and backup technology, security processes, patch management, password policies, etc.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a System Administrator:

  • Broad multidisciplinary knowledge of system administration, particularly networking, Linux and Windows.
  • Knowledge of LDAP, Certification Authorities, SSH/PGP keys encryption, Kerberos authentication, etc.
  • A deep knowledge of Linux is required. 
  • Technical understanding of typical configurations, operating systems, programming frameworks, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex messages in simple terms.
