Drawing and Technical Support Engineer – Competitive – St. Leonards on Sea, East Sussex

The Role

Do you have experience generating production drawings within a machining/manufacturing environment? A company that manufactures a full range of KF, ISO and Conflat flanges for world-leading Ultra-High Vacuum equipment suppliers are looking for a Drawing and Technical Support Engineer.

The successful candidate will develop step files, photo rendered images and DXF files, alongside supporting with marketing images, new product ranges and website files.

The key responsibilities of a Drawing and Technical Support Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Assessment of customer enquiries, with preparation of quotes.
  • Preparation of production documentation, billing and routing new non-standard items.
  • General drawing office administration, mainly working with Excel and Access.
  • Understanding a production MRP system.

The company maintains several significant key accounts, serving the world-leading vacuum equipment suppliers with the full range of KF, ISO and Conflat catalogue vacuum hardware flange and fitting components.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Drawing and Technical Support Engineer include:

  • Vacuum and engineering knowledge is an advantage.
  • An understanding of a production MRP system.
  • Previous experience of generating production drawings using SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
  • Experience of developing step files, photo rendered images and DXF files, alongside supporting with marketing images, new product ranges and website files, preparing quotes and production documentation, as well as billing and routing new non-standard items.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to use Excel and Access.
