HSQE Manager – Competitive – Billingham

The Role

SPIE UK, a smart engineering and technology-driven solutions provider for the built environment, are looking for a HSQE Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract.

The successful candidate will proactively manage all the companies daily HSEQ duties and responsibilities during the lifetime of a project.  

The key responsibilities of a HSQE Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Implementation of the company UK HSEQ Management systems.
  • Co-ordination of the project Health and Safety programme, and recording monthly company specific HSEQ Toolbox / Calendar talks.
  • Monthly audit of all company project HSEQ Management systems.
  • Providing HSEQ coaching and mentoring to all levels of company site management / workforce.
  • Proactively forecasting and identifying any potential training competency shortfalls in the site team.
  • Conducting formal investigation for any company specific near misses, incidents and accidents.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a HSQE Manager:

  • The successful candidate will be qualified to NEBOSH General as a minimum, Diploma is preferable.
  • Membership of IOSH
  • Flexible team player with the ability to drive results and deliver value
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to operate across an organisation at all levels
  • Knowledge of HVAC, E&I and Process projects
  • Experience working on large scale pharmaceutical projects to the value of £20m
  • High level of self-motivation, organisational ability, and drive to meet deadlines
  • Extensive experience within a HSQE role
  • Degree qualified (Desirable)
