Graduate Regulatory Chemist

The Company

Cleenol Group, an independent family run business which is today recognised as one of the UK’s leading innovators, manufacturers and suppliers of quality cleaning and hygiene products, has an opportunity for a graduate chemist to join our Technical Department.

The Role

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will undertake regulatory and technical activities to ensure Cleenol fulfil compliance requirements for chemicals legislation including: EU-REACH, CLP, BPR, CPR and UK-REACH.

Working alongside an experienced regulatory consultant and development chemist, this is an exciting opportunity to work for a growing company where you will receive excellent training and have the opportunity to progress.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regulatory and technical advice and support for Cleenol and our customers.
  • Interpret and understand complex EU and UK law and in turn communicate these clearly to colleagues and customers.
  • Project management of product notifications to various competent authorities, for example: Ireland PCS number, cosmetics (CPSR and CPNP), Ecolabelling and Poison Centre Notifications (PCN).
  • Approval of product labels prior to printing.
  • SDS authoring and editing using GHS professional software.
  • Support QC lab technician in day-to-day operations, for example: product testing, cosmetic swabbing.

The Person

  • University degree in STEM; Chemistry would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience of working in a lab would be an advantage.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with colleagues, customers and authorities.
  • Adaptable and capable of working under pressure towards deadlines.
  • Independent and well organised.
  • Additional European language skills would be an advantage.
