Passive Fire Inspector – Competitive DOE – UK

The Role

Are you an experienced passive fire protection industry professional with an inspection, supervisory, management or extensive installation background in fire stopping measures? If so, a prominent fire-protection consultancy has an opportunity for a Passive Fire Inspector.

The successful candidate will inspect, record and report on the condition of fire protection measures, with particular focus on fire stopping, in line with the latest regulations and standards. 

The key responsibilities of a Passive Fire Inspector include, but are not limited to:

  • Detailed inspection of the condition of built-in fire stopping and other passive fire protection measures.
  • Recording and reporting the condition of built-in fire protection measures within new and existing properties, in line with the latest Building Regulations, standards and technical literature.
  • Staying up to date with, and being conversant in current legislation, while maintaining a thorough knowledge of a wide range of passive fire related products and their installation processes - including those used in fire stopping, fire barriers, fire doors, fire dampers and structural steel protection.

In addition, they possess equal experience in the products that are installed to meet these requirements.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Passive Fire Inspector:

  • Professional, ethical and independent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, with experience of Microsoft Excel and advantage.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel, including overnight when required.
  • Willingness to work towards and achieve relevant professional qualifications and continual professional development.
  • Full UK driving license and CSCS card.
