We're looking for a skilled Centreless Grinding Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring we deliver high-quality parts, on time, every time.

You'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our centreless and plunge grinding machines. You'll be analysing production processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and value.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate centreless and plunge grinding machines to exacting standards.
• Continuously improve grinding processes and recommend changes for increased efficiency and value.
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance and monitor machine performance.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of our grinding equipment.
• Perform in-process quality checks according to established procedures.
• Sign off on completed operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Adjust machines for changeovers, varying production needs, and different functions.
• Identify and report any deviations, errors, or discrepancies in work instructions.
• Adhere to company SQDCP values, including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity.
• Follow all PPE and health and safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area following 5S principles.

Boneham & Turner Ltd is a leading manufacturer and supplier of tooling components and precision engineered components in the UK. With over 100 years’ experience in the manufacture and supply of Jig Bushes, Drill Bushes, Dowel Pins, Jig & Fixture Parts, Press Tool Components, Shims, Koenig Sealing Plugs, Engineered Pins, Clevis Pins and special components to customer specific drawings.

Benefits:

• Monday to Thursday 8am – 4:30pm, Friday 8am – 1pm.
• 25 Days holiday + Bank Holidays.

The Person

• Experience working with and maintaining specialised machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in centreless grinding to precise tolerances.
• Ability to read and interpret production drawings and use measuring instruments like micrometres.
• A commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• A strong focus on quality and accuracy.
• The ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent multi-tasking skills.
• A desire to lead by example and set high standards for others.
