Procurement Manager - External Manufacturing Operations – Competitive Salary + Benefits – Amsterdam, NL

The Role

Do you have a strong background in procurement and experience working with external manufacturing partners? Are you confident managing supplier relationships and driving cost-effective, high-quality outcomes?

We are hiring for a Tier 1 FMCG manufacturing business who are setting up a brand-new business unit and are looking to hire a new procurement team. We are looking for a skilled Procurement Manager to join our Amsterdam-based team.

Reporting to the Procurement Director, you will lead the procurement function for our external manufacturing operations across Europe. Your focus will be on developing and executing effective procurement strategies while ensuring our suppliers deliver on quality, cost, and timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for external manufacturing
  • Monitor market trends and supplier performance to inform decisions
  • Identify, evaluate and select contract manufacturers
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure terms are met
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives
  • Manage supplier compliance with quality and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align on production and logistics needs
  • Monitor inventory levels and reduce excess stock
  • Identify risks in the supply chain and put mitigation plans in place

The Person

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business Administration or similar
  • At least 7 years of experience in procurement, ideally in external manufacturing
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communicator and team collaborator
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); an additional language is a bonus
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Proficient with procurement systems and MS Office
