Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Human Resources Director/ Head of HR to lead the people function for a growing healthcare organization with approximately 300 employees across seven office locations. This role will oversee all core HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, compensation, benefits, and organizational development. The HR Director will manage a team of five HR professionals and serve as a key member of the leadership team. This person will play a critical role in shaping company culture, supporting operational growth, and ensuring our people strategies align with broader business goals.

Key Responsibilities

People Strategy & Leadership

  • Lead the HR team (5 direct reports) in the execution of scalable HR programs that support business objectives and employee engagement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on organizational planning, workforce development, and culture-building initiatives.
  • Design and implement strategic HR initiatives that drive performance, retention, and employee satisfaction.

Recruitment & Talent Development

  • Oversee recruitment efforts across all locations, ensuring efficient hiring of top talent for clinical and non-clinical roles.
  • Enhance onboarding, career development, and training programs that support internal mobility and team growth.
  • Establish clear performance management processes and partner with leaders to guide feedback, reviews, and development planning.

Employee Relations & Culture

  • Serve as the senior point of contact for employee relations issues, ensuring fair resolution and consistent application of policies.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment through proactive communication and engagement programs.
  • Lead company-wide initiatives related to culture, recognition, and well-being.

Compensation, Benefits & Compliance

  • Manage compensation strategy, benefits administration, and employee total rewards planning.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and healthcare regulations across multiple states and office locations.
  • Keep policies current with changing labor regulations and best practices.

HR Operations & Process Improvement

  • Continuously improve HR systems, tools, and processes to enhance employee experience and operational efficiency.
  • Use data and analytics to track workforce metrics and inform strategic decisions.
  • Oversee HRIS functionality, reporting, and digital onboarding enhancements.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in an HR leadership role, ideally within healthcare or a similar multi-site service environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices across multiple states.
  • Experience supporting both strategic initiatives and day-to-day HR operations.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with a collaborative and approachable management style.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR) preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field a plus.
