PCU Registered Nurse/ PCU Stepdown Registered Nurse– $60.00-$70.00 per hour – Mechanicsville, Richmond,, Portsmouth, VA

We are looking for a dedicated PCU/Stepdown RN to join our team on a 13-week travel contract, with the possibility of extension based on facility needs.

As a PCU/Stepdown RN, you will deliver high-quality patient care using the nursing process. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, ensuring the best possible outcomes.

A mixture of Days and Night shifts available in 4x12, 3x12 (depending on location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Administer medications safely.
• Coordinate patient care across hospital departments.
• Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement.
• Manage patients with multi-system organ failure or trauma.
• Use the AACN Synergy Model to maintain patient stability.
• Respond to rapidly changing patient conditions.
• Support patients and families coping with illness or injury.

The Person

• Current RN license in the state or covered by compact (required)
• BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification (required)

• 1 year of RN experience (required)
• 6 months in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
