Credit Controller – £26k - £28k– Chelmsford, CM1 (Office-based)

The Role

Big Business Events is a leading company that offers business coaching and training services to business owners and entrepreneurs.

We are looking for Credit Controller to our growing team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will work as part of a wider team who are responsible for collecting outstanding debt from the company’s client base.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raise sales invoices from order forms in the Company’s CRM, Accounting software and a third a party platform (Monday.com a workflow software). Ensuring all three align with each other.
  • Allocate daily, payments received across various platforms.
  • Negotiate payment terms and manage credit arrangements with clients.
  • Conduct thorough credit checks on new clients to assess creditworthiness.
  • Address and resolve payment queries from both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure prompt payment of invoices within agreed timelines.
  • Proactively chase overdue invoices and payments through phone and email communication.
  • Develop equitable repayment plans for clients facing financial difficulties.
  • Produce weekly reports on debtor status and update internal records.
  • Foster and maintain robust relationships with clients to facilitate smooth financial operations.

The Person

Essential:

  • Strong numerical and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong reconciliation skills
  • Ability to manage stress effectively and maintain composure in challenging situations.
  • Minimum 6 months Xero Accounting software experience.
  • Competence in data entry and MS Excel.
  • 2 years previous experience in a similar account’s role

Desirable:

  • Experience with Keap/Infusion soft CRM or similar
  • Experience using Monday .com workflow software
  • Immediate start
