Detached Youth Workers (Part-time) – Finsbury Park and Islington, London

The Role

Are you an experienced Youth Worker (Level 2 or above) with experience engaging young people in informal settings? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

Prospex is seeking experienced and motivated Youth Workers to deliver high-quality detached youth work in Islington. This role is ideal for someone with experience of working with young people growing up on estates, supporting them to overcome barriers, to gain confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

  • Finsbury Park (2 vacancies): Part-time, fixed-term contract (2 years with a possible 2-year extension). 15 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 3-6pm).
  • Islington (1 vacancy): Part-time, fixed-term contract (2 years). 9 hours per week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday, 6.30-9.30pm).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with young people in their environment (streets, parks etc.).
  • Identify and address the needs of young people.
  • Provide information, advice, and guidance on a range of issues.
  • Support young people to overcome challenges and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver creative and engaging activities.
  • Work collaboratively with other youth services and organisations.

The Person

  • Qualified Youth Worker (Level 2 or above). We will also consider applications from volunteers with experience in youth services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with young people.
  • Creativity, initiative, and a problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent timekeeping and organisational skills.
