Catholic Religious Education Coordinator – $18 - $20 per hour, commensurate with experience – Grand Forks AFB, ND 58205 USA

The Role

Could you see yourself leading a vibrant Catholic education program in a military setting? Do you have the organizational skills and experience to support faith formation across all ages?

We’re looking for a Catholic Religious Education (RE) Coordinator to oversee and deliver a dynamic, structured RE program for the Catholic community at Grand Forks Air Force Base. Working closely with the Catholic Chaplain, you’ll coordinate everything from children’s ministries to adult formation, ensuring our programs run smoothly and in line with the values of the Catholic Church and military context.

As RE Coordinator, you’ll be the key point of contact for Catholic religious education across the chapel community. This includes planning and facilitating programs such as First Communion and Confirmation, Vacation Bible School, and faith-based youth and adult activities. You’ll manage scheduling, volunteers, resources, and communication, helping to create a welcoming and enriching experience for all participants.

You’ll need to attend weekly Sunday Mass, chapel meetings, and work an average of eight hours per week (schedule set by the Catholic Chaplain).

If this sounds like a good fit for your skills and calling, we’d love to hear from you. Please be ready to submit a CV with references and attend an interview within 7 business days if contacted.

This is a part-time, 1099 contract position.

Please note: Candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide supporting documents, such as degree certificates, transcripts, and professional certifications.

Position contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and run religious education programs throughout the year
  • Coordinate with chapel staff to reserve facilities and manage logistics
  • Oversee sacramental preparation, retreats, and registration with the Archdiocese for the Military Services
  • Support and supervise volunteers, including training and safeguarding
  • Prepare budgets and calendars in line with chapel guidelines
  • Maintain a welcoming, safe, and respectful learning environment
  • Attend required chapel meetings and maintain open office hours
  • Complete and pass all required background checks and annual training

The Person

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • At least 18 years old and living within 100 miles of Grand Forks AFB
  • Experienced in leading or supporting Catholic RE programs (military experience preferred but not essential)
  • Catechist certified by the Archdiocese for the Military Services (or willing to obtain certification)
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and planning tools
  • Reliable, well-organized, and able to work in a multi-faith environment
  • Committed to safeguarding and training standards
