The Role

Do you have hands-on experience maintaining and repairing industrial instrumentation and control systems? Are you confident working with complex electrical equipment, PLCs, and HVAC systems in a challenging technical environment?

We are looking to recruit an Industrial Controls Technician (Level I or II) to join our Operations & Maintenance Division. You’ll be part of a skilled team keeping our critical water reclamation processes running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with industrial control and monitoring systems.

Key Responsibilities:

You’ll be responsible for the maintenance, repair and installation of a wide range of equipment, including:

  • Process instrumentation (pH, DO, ORP, temperature)
  • PLCs, loop controllers and distributed control systems
  • Communication systems (telemetry, radios, telephones)
  • Lab instrumentation such as spectrophotometers
  • HVAC and refrigeration units
  • Gas detection and safety systems

Other key tasks include:

  • Electrical wiring and predictive maintenance
  • Confined space entry (training provided)
  • Routine calibration and fault-finding
  • Maintaining networked DDC control systems (Technician I)

The Person

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Brings at least 2 years (Technician II) or 4 years (Technician I) of hands-on experience with instrumentation, controls, HVAC, or related systems
  • Is physically fit to meet the demands of the job (lifting, climbing, working in confined spaces)
  • Holds a valid driving license (Virginia)

Experience in a water treatment or similar industrial environment is an advantage.
