Vice President of Lighting and Controls – $95,000-$125,000 + Bonus & Benefits – Long Island, NY

The Role

Do you have a strong track record (8+ years) of leading high-value lighting and controls projects? Are you confident managing teams, budgets and client relationships to drive business success? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Vice President to lead our $10 million division dedicated to LED lighting and control solutions.

You will be responsible for the overall success of our lighting and controls division. You will lead a team, manage client communications, optimise workflows and drive financial performance. Your leadership will ensure our projects are completed efficiently and meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

         ·         Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor a cross-functional team, promoting collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Set clear goals to align team efforts with company objectives.

         ·         Client Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring effective communication and strong relationships. Address client concerns and maintain transparent communication.

         ·         Team Workflow: Oversee division workflow, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and within budget. Optimize resources and improve internal processes for high-quality project delivery.

         ·         Goal Setting & Reporting: Set and track division and team goals. Provide regular performance reports and use data-driven insights to improve project outcomes.

         ·         Division Financials: Manage a $10 million LED division budget, ensuring cost control, profitability, and alignment with company goals. Track expenses and adjust plans to meet financial targets.

         ·         Problem-Solving: Lead problem-solving initiatives, addressing challenges promptly and adapting to changing requirements. Implement risk mitigation strategies.

         ·         Project Planning & Execution: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Lead the planning and execution of Local Law 88 lighting and controls projects, ensuring compliance and timely completion.

         ·         Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting: Maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders. Prepare reports and ensure proper filing of Local Law 88 proposals with the Department of Buildings (DOB)

The Person

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Management, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in leadership roles, with a focus on lighting, controls, and renewable energy projects.
  • Experience managing a multi-million-dollar division, with expertise in financial management and cost control.
  • Strong understanding of Local Law 88, Local Law 97, and relevant industry trends.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and team management skills.
  • Excellent client communication and negotiation abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in project management software, tools, and techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
