Johnson Company is a long-established manufacturers’ representative firm partnering with world-class brands in electronics—sensors, switches, interconnects, power, wireless, and electro-mechanical solutions. We’re seeking an experienced Field Sales Engineer to expand our presence across Greater Minneapolis–St. Paul.
If you have a background in electrical or mechanical engineering and 2-5 years of industry experience, this is your chance to move into a consultative, client-facing role with exceptional income potential.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Grow and manage relationships with OEMs across the region—mainly in-person client visits.
- Identify and convert new design opportunities, with support from a strong line card of global brands.
- Translate technical challenges into solution-based selling with engineers and decision-makers.
- Work closely with our Distribution Manager to leverage channel relationships and pipeline coverage.
- Participate in joint calls with principals, attend key events, and complete occasional factory training.
What We’re Looking For
- 2-5 years’ experience in electronic components, electro-mechanical systems, or similar technical sales.
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; other technical fields welcome).
- Hands-on understanding of component-level products—power, sensors, semiconductors, or interconnects.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to interpret design specs and technical drawings.
- Based within 25 miles of Minneapolis/St. Paul—territory travel is mostly local.
