AV Support Technician – £25k to £28k depending on experience + benefits and overtime -Manchester

The Role

Are you skilled at orchestrating the perfect lighting setup? Do you thrive in the dynamic world of live event production? We are seeking an AV Support Technician with a special focus on Lighting / LX to join our team.

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, ensuring the smooth running of our live events. This role has a particular focus on lighting and light shows, but you’ll also be involved in various other aspects of AV.

Please note: Candidates need to reside close proximity to Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the setup, operation, and derigging of audio-visual equipment for various live events.
  • Design and pre-program light shows and rigging plots to create visually compelling events.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with AV equipment across audio, lighting, and video technologies.
  • Prepare detailed quotes and technical plans for events and installations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients, suppliers, and venue staff, ensuring clear communication and seamless event execution.
  • Handle equipment logistics, including delivery, collection, and maintenance.

The Person

  • Proven experience in setting up and programming lighting fixtures.
  • Proficiency in lighting control consoles and software such as Chamsys, Avolites, or GrandMA.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members and clients.
  • A robust understanding of health and safety protocols in the event industry.
  • A full driving licence, with experience operating 3.5T vans preferred.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends, and travel as needed for event management.
