The Role

Do you have experience in religious education and strong organisational skills? Are you confident managing programmes and engaging with students, parents, and volunteers?  If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are seeking a Religious Education Coordinator to lead and manage our education programmes, supporting students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.

This is a vital role that requires strong leadership and administrative skills to ensure a meaningful and well-organised education experience.

This is a part-time position, working on average 20-30 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all religious education programmes for students from pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade (minimum 30 hours per grade annually)
  • Ensure all Catechists and assistants complete the annual Safe Environment Training
  • Maintain attendance records and training documents for all students and Catechists
  • Communicate with parents or guardians regarding absences or disciplinary issues
  • Submit all required forms for Sacraments (Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation) to the Archdiocese of the Military Services
  • Manage the roster of Catechists and assistants, ensuring classes and programmes are fully staffed
  • Maintain curriculum and supplies for Chapel-sponsored small group studies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

The Person

  • A practising individual with a reference from their current Pastor
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of two years' experience in religious education, programme management, or office administration
  • Knowledge of teachings, customs, and traditions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or willing to become proficient within two months
  • Experienced in planning liturgies
  • Comfortable working in a pluralistic environment and collaborating with volunteers and staff.
