Safety & Training Coordinator

Edwards Moving & Rigging is looking for a Safety & Training Coordinator to support and strengthen our safety culture across operations. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with our Safety/Risk Director to drive compliance, improve training, and embed 5S workplace organisation across our shops, warehouse, and yard.

What You’ll Be Doing

Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain incident databases and track corrective actions
  • Produce and share monthly safety reports and company-wide updates
  • Manage Safety Data Sheets (SDS) across the business
  • Support compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations and assist with audits
  • Monitor and track driver qualification files

Training & Development

  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance
  • Coordinate internal and external training (e.g. CPR/First Aid, Rigging)
  • Manage online training platforms and completion tracking
  • Support development of new safety training materials

Systems & Reporting

  • Input safety data into customer portals (e.g. AEP, Duke Energy, etc.)
  • Provide regular updates to management and operational teams
  • Track annual training requirements and compliance status

5S & Continuous Improvement

  • Support rollout of 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardise, Sustain) across operations
  • Conduct audits to ensure standards are maintained
  • Work with teams to improve organisation, efficiency, and safety
  • Help train staff on 5S principles and best practices

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator – written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently
  • Comfortable working with data, systems, and reporting tools
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to learn

Desirable:

  • Experience with 5S or workplace organisation systems
  • 5S certification (not essential)

Working Environment
