Senior Support Worker - £13.90/Hr – Barnsley, UK

Are you an experienced Support Worker ready to take the next step in your career? Do you hold a Level 3 Diploma (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care and want to make a genuine difference every day?

Making Space is a values-driven care organisation, and we are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join our team in Barnsley.

The role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key part in leading a small team and ensuring high-quality, person-centred support is delivered at our Silver Street Respite Service.

This is a permanent, full-time role working 35 hours per week. You will support adults with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, dementia, mental health conditions and physical health needs, helping them live as independently as possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of Support Workers
  • Delegate tasks and guide staff to deliver high standards of care
  • Follow and review individual care plans
  • Support with medication administration
  • Assist with daily living tasks such as shopping and personal care
  • Encourage individuals to access the community and stay engaged
  • Ensure all support is delivered in line with company values

The person

  • Holds a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Has previous experience as a Support Worker
  • Confident supervising or guiding others
  • Values person-centred care
  • Reliable, caring and organised
