We are looking for a Property Insurance Risk Engineer to deliver high-quality risk engineering services across Ireland and, where required, globally. You will protect the interests of the business while supporting strategic growth plans and act as a trusted technical adviser, balancing site work, reporting and collaboration with colleagues.

This is a home-based position with regular time in the Dublin office to support the underwriting team and maintain close working relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out site surveys and produce detailed risk engineering reports.
  • Complete risk reviews, assessments and desk top surveys.
  • Support account engineering activities where required.
  • Monitor and manage risk improvement actions.
  • Review project works and provide technical insight.
  • Offer technical support to underwriters and customers.
  • Follow branch and risk consulting policies and guidelines.
  • Maintain ongoing professional development.
  • Build effective working relationships across underwriting, management and executive teams.
  • Represent the company at industry events and meetings.
  • Keep accurate and audit-ready records.

The Person

To succeed as a Property Insurance Risk Engineer, you will have:

  • A degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Experience in risk engineering across a range of occupancies.
  • Knowledge of construction, property and business interruption terminology.
  • Understanding of fire protection standards such as NFPA, FM Global or LPC.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and face to face.
  • The ability to manage your workload and meet deadlines.
  • Confidence using Microsoft systems.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
