The Role

Are you calm, caring and confident supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism or complex needs? Do you want a meaningful role where every shift genuinely improves someone’s day or night?

We are looking for a Support Worker to join our friendly team at Swallow Lodge, an 8-bed respite service offering planned short stays for adults aged 18+. This is a hands-on, rewarding position where no two days are the same.

As a Support Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support that helps people feel safe, comfortable and independent. These are full-time positions, working 35 hours per week.

Hours: Days - 35 hours weekly working various shifts between 7.30am-9.30pm. 3/4 days per week including working 2 in 3 weekends

            Waking Nights – 35 hours weekly working 9.30pm-7.30am 3/4 shifts per week

This role includes personal care, meal preparation, cleaning duties and creating a welcoming home environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support tailored to individual needs
  • Assist with personal care and daily living tasks
  • Prepare meals and maintain a clean, safe environment
  • Follow care and support plans
  • Keep accurate records and report concerns promptly
  • Promote independence, dignity and choice
  • Work closely with colleagues and external professionals
  • Support safeguarding and health & safety practices at all times

The Person

To succeed as a Support Worker, you will be:

  • Caring, reliable and patient
  • Comfortable providing personal care
  • Organised with good written and verbal communication
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experienced in health, social care or supported housing (preferred)
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
  • Flexible with shifts, including nights or weekends
