The Role
We’re looking for a Protestant Music Director to bring life to our weekly Sunday services and a few special gatherings throughout the year. This part-time contractor position (3–5 hours per week) is ideal if you want a meaningful way to use your musical gifts in service to others.

Key Responsibilities (and What You Gain)

  • Lead music at weekly and special services – Build your portfolio and reach a diverse audience within the military community.
  • Work closely with the Protestant Chaplain – Strengthen your skills in planning and collaboration.
  • Play or coordinate piano or guitar accompaniment – Keep your performance skills sharp and gain valuable experience in live settings.
  • Plan seasonal music (Christmas, Easter, etc.) – Showcase your creativity and ability to shape meaningful worship experiences.
  • Arrange for approved substitutes when needed – Learn team leadership and scheduling flexibility.
  • Invoice monthly via the WAWF system – Gain experience in contractor admin and working with federal systems.

The Person

  • 3+ years of experience as a Protestant Music Director
  • Confident in Protestant worship styles (gospel, traditional, contemporary, liturgical)
  • Reads music and plays piano or guitar
  • Organized, reliable, and collaborative
  • Able to pass a background check and meet base access rules
