Catholic Religious Education Coordinator – $18-$20/hour based on experience – Beale Air Force Base (AFB), CA

The Role

Are you well-versed in Catholic religious education and experienced in coordinating faith-based programs? Can you lead children, youth, and adults in a structured religious setting while supporting a military community?

Beale Air Force Base in California is seeking a part-time Catholic Religious Education Coordinator to manage and deliver a comprehensive religious education program. Working under the direction of the assigned Catholic Chaplain, this role requires 24 hours per week, plus additional time for special events throughout the year. This is a 1099 contract position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and lead Faith Formation for all ages, Sacramental prep, Youth Ministry, RCIA, and adult education
  • Manage curriculum, attendance, budgets, and event coordination
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers
  • Attend parish council, staff, and planning meetings
  • Coordinate facility use and publicize events across various media
  • Maintain accurate sacramental records and electronic databases
  • Assist with Vacation Bible School preparation and execution
  • Follow all required safety and background check protocols

The Person

  • At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED (Associate degree preferred)
  • Basic Catechist certification or relevant theological coursework
  • Practicing Catholic in full communion with the Church
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in RE coordination or similar ministry roles
  • Strong administrative and communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple programs and volunteer teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with general office equipment
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check
