Pay: Starting at £12.60 per hour, rising to £12.82 after probation, with progression up to £13.30 at your own pace.

About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our new housing support service in Glasgow, providing 24-hour support to an 18-year-old autistic young man. He enjoys being active, social, and taking part in activities such as swimming, baking, and exploring the outdoors.

As part of this role, you will also support him to access his day service five days per week, helping him to build confidence, develop skills, and lead a fulfilling life.

We are looking for people who are confident, outgoing, dynamic, perceptive, compassionate, patient, and up for some fun. You should be able to provide structure and boundaries in a caring and sensitive manner, communicate effectively, and remain calm under pressure.

About the Role:

As an Autism Practitioner, you will support individuals to achieve their personal goals and live as independently as possible. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing personalised support plans.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships.
  • Empowering individuals to make choices using their preferred communication methods.
  • Supporting participation in activities such as local events, day trips, and holidays.
  • Assisting with everyday tasks such as managing finances and maintaining their home.
  • Promoting life skills and providing personal care where required.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to ensure each person’s life goals and aspirations are always at the heart of their care.

Successful Applicants Should

  • Hold a full UK manual driving licence.
  • Be flexible to work a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Previous experience in a care or support setting is advantageous but not essential, full training is provided.
