Edwards Moving and Rigging is seeking an Operations Manager I to oversee logistics, trucking, dispatch operations, and inventory control at our Shelbyville, KY location. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role manages the Yard Manager and Trucking Manager, while driving efficiency and compliance across all transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise trucking and dispatch operations, ensuring timely and accurate scheduling
  • Manage and guide the Yard Manager and Trucking Manager
  • Maintain and monitor inventory records across multiple terminals
  • Coordinate and approve inventory purchases, distribution, and maintenance
  • Forecast and plan equipment requirements for upcoming projects
  • Select and negotiate with carriers to secure cost-effective transport solutions
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and maintain accurate documentation
  • Approve invoices and manage vendor relationships
  • Monitor dispatch accuracy, resolving issues quickly
  • Work closely with Operations to support project delivery

The Person

  • Proven experience in logistics management, dispatch, inventory control, and transportation compliance.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing direct reports.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, transportation logistics, and equipment management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics-related software.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in heavy haul or specialized transportation logistics.
  • Certifications in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Prior experience forecasting and managing equipment inventory.
