Catholic Music Director – $50 p/h commensurate with experience – Whiteman Air Force Base, MO 65305

The Role

Do you have strong vocal and instrumental music skills rooted in Catholic worship traditions? Are you confident leading congregational music and building cohesive worship teams?

We’re seeking a Catholic Music Director and Accompanist to support worship services at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri. This role is key to creating a reverent and spiritually uplifting worship experience through music, under the direction of the Catholic Chaplain.

This is a part-time, 1099 contract position.

Please note: Candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide supporting documents, such as degree certificates, transcripts, and professional certifications.

Position contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead music for Catholic worship services, including Sunday Mass and special events
• Select songs in coordination with the Catholic Chaplain
• Direct weekly rehearsals (not on the same day as worship services)
• Prepare and distribute music to team members at least 24 hours before rehearsal
• Recruit and support volunteer musicians and vocalists
• Set up and break down musical equipment before and after services
• Maintain a written log of services and rehearsals
• Arrive at least 10 minutes before rehearsals and 30 minutes before services

The Person

• Must demonstrate strong vocal proficiency (minimum score of 24 out of 30 in audition)
• Capable of reading sheet music and playing keyboard or guitar
• Skilled in leading Catholic-style worship music and directing music teams
• Able to use sound and projection systems for services
• Experienced in planning worship and coordinating with ministry staff
• Must undergo background checks and adhere to chapel and DoD regulations
• Reliable, punctual, and able to coordinate approved replacements as needed
