This is a part-time, 1099 contract position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage comprehensive Catholic religious education programs for children, youth, and adults.
  • Coordinate sacramental preparation classes, including First Communion and Confirmation.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer catechists and support staff.
  • Collaborate with chaplains and other religious education coordinators to ensure program alignment with Catholic teachings.
  • Maintain records of program participation and sacramental preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with the Archdiocese for the Military Services' guidelines and requirements.

The Person

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in Christian Religious Education or a related ministry field from an accredited university. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in another field combined with equivalent experience in a military chapel environment is acceptable.
  • Possesses a Catechetical Certification from the Archdiocese for the Military Services or is willing to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
  • Has a minimum of two years of experience in a military chapel environment, particularly in Catholic religious education or youth-oriented programs.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of Catholic doctrine and teachings.
  • Exhibits excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Is capable of working collaboratively with chaplains, volunteers, and military families.
