Health & Wellness Advocate – $53,000 – $70,000 – Raleigh, NC

The Role

Do you enjoy helping others find the right support at the right time? Are you confident navigating both clinical systems and community resources?

We are looking for a Health & Wellness Advocate to join the Integrated Behavioral Health System (IBHS) supporting North Carolina National Guard members and their families in Raleigh. This full-time role is focused on non-clinical case management, connecting service members with behavioral health, social, and community services.

You’ll work in a mobile capacity, engaging directly with soldiers and units in armories and at events. This is not a desk-based job—you’ll be visible, proactive, and present where you’re most needed.

If you're ready to support those who serve, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note: Candidates selected for an interview will be required to provide supporting documents, such as degree certificates, transcripts, and professional certifications.

Position contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide needs assessments and coordinate non-clinical care and referrals
  • Support service members in accessing housing, financial aid, food, and mental health services
  • Offer timely follow-up and ensure continued care across systems
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation in the IBHS electronic medical record
  • Participate in outreach events and build partnerships with local organizations
  • Respond to critical issues by escalating to clinical team members when required

The Person

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a behavioral health-related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-graduate experience (or 5 years with a bachelor’s degree)
  • At least 1 year working within a military setting
  • Strong coordination and communication skills
  • Highly adaptable, self-motivated and comfortable working across locations
  • Able to manage sensitive situations with discretion and empathy
