The Role

We are recruiting for a unique dual-position based in Wilmington: Coordinator & Lead Psychotherapist within the North Carolina National Guard’s Integrated Behavioral Health System (IBHS). You’ll balance clinical work with team oversight and scheduling, ensuring smooth daily operations and consistent delivery of high-quality behavioral health care.

This is a full-time role that combines service delivery with leadership, requiring collaboration with therapists, advocates, military units, and community services across the region.

Position contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry a clinical caseload of approximately 15–20 service members and families
  • Supervise clinical and non-clinical staff, including case review and documentation audits
  • Coordinate coverage for day-to-day services, special events, and the 24/7 helpline rota
  • Support new staff through onboarding and mentorship
  • Maintain fidelity to evidence-based therapies and IBHS standard operating procedures
  • Represent IBHS at meetings with state agencies, health providers, and NCNG command
  • Identify emerging trends and provide feedback to the IBHS Director and Contracting Officer Representative (COR)

The Person

  • Master’s degree in behavioral health or social sciences
  • Licensed in NC as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT (independent level)
  • Minimum 3 years’ post-licensure clinical experience
  • Prior supervisory or team coordination experience strongly preferred
  • Skilled in trauma-focused therapies (CPT, EMDR, PE, etc.)
  • Organized, adaptable, and confident in balancing clinical and leadership duties
  • Able to travel locally and support team members across regions when needed
