The Role

Are you a licensed therapist seeking meaningful work in support of those who serve? Do you enjoy a varied caseload that balances therapy, outreach, and crisis response?

We’re looking for a Psychotherapist to join the NC National Guard’s Integrated Behavioral Health System (IBHS) in Asheville. This full-time role involves providing trauma-informed therapy, psychological assessment, and case management to service members and their families. You’ll also support a 24/7 behavioral health helpline as part of a shared on-call schedule.

While you’ll be based in Asheville, your work may extend to other parts of the state depending on need, with travel reimbursed where required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver clinical support using evidence-based therapies such as CPT, EMDR, and PE
• Provide assessments, treatment plans, and individualized care
• Maintain secure documentation through the IBHS electronic system
• Participate in helpline rota and respond to out-of-hours calls when assigned
• Engage in outreach events, debriefings, and psychoeducation sessions
• Collaborate with internal IBHS teams, external care providers, and command leaders

The Person

• Master’s degree in behavioral health or social sciences
• NC license as an independent LCSW, LPC, or LMFT
• 3+ years of clinical experience post-licensure
• Skilled in trauma treatment and mental health care within diverse settings
• Adaptable, well-organized, and comfortable working across locations
• Strong communicator with an ability to manage complex needs confidently
