The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Airmen Ministry Coordinator (AMC) to support and lead the Airmen Ministry at Barksdale Air Force Base Chapel. This is a pivotal role focused on strengthening the spiritual resilience of Airmen through engaging events, faith-based activities, and a supportive volunteer network. Working closely with the Singles Ministry Religious Support Team, you’ll take ownership of daily ministry operations and ensure every initiative reflects Air Force Core Values.

This is a part-time, 1099 contract position.

Position contingent upon contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, promote, and lead weekly and monthly events, retreats, social activities, and faith-based gatherings
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of active-duty Airmen volunteers
  • Develop and maintain a ministry calendar and budget in collaboration with Chapel leadership
  • Manage inventory, publicity materials, and all program logistics
  • Engage with base organizations and leadership to promote the Airmen Ministry
  • Submit reports and time logs as required; maintain accurate records
  • Ensure all activities are inclusive, spiritually enriching, and well-organized

The Person

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in military young adult ministry and spiritual wellness
  • Proven skills in event planning, volunteer management, and budgeting
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office, social media, and streaming tools
  • Familiarity with gaming and music equipment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently, professionally, and collaboratively
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and comply with DoD policies
