Pilotage Operations Executive/Ship Agent

Deep Sea & Coastal Pilots Ltd. provides Deep Sea Pilotage services to commercial vessels in the North Sea and English Channel. We also provide ship agency services off Brixham, UK via pilot launch and service boats through our sister company, Brixham Ship Agency Services Ltd.

We have an opportunity for a candidate to join our growing operations and office team with exposure across both Deep Sea Pilotage and Ship Agency operations. This is a great opportunity for candidates to gain skills and understanding across two shipping sectors.

We are looking for candidates with strong communication and organizational skills who are keen to learn and become part of our growing business. Previous maritime/ship agency experience will be of bonus to any applicants, however this is not a necessity. Our primary focus is finding an ambitious, well organized and personable individual who is looking for a long-term career in maritime sector. We are looking for candidates around the South West UK & Torbay area, given our office and operations are based out of Brixham, Devon.

Key Responsibilities:

-        Managing day to day pilotage operations with split working across our ship agency business.

-        Month end and invoice processes.

-        Close interaction with suppliers.

-        Maintaining good relationships with Customers and Stakeholders.

-        Handling any local requirements for agency work.

Candidate Requirements:

-        Strong communication and organizational skills – ability to multi-task and manage priorities.

-        Forward thinking and a problem solver.

-        Willingness to learn and operate in a changing environment.

-        Full UK driving license.

-        Very good computer/excel/word competency.

-        High level of attention to detail.

Please note that we are a 24/7 operation and therefore candidates are expected to join our evening and weekend shared rota.

The package:

-        35 days annual leave including bank holidays.

-        Pension.

-        Car Parking permit Brixham/Torbay.

-        Salary of £28k per annum.
