Catholic Religious Education Coordinator - $22.00- $25.00 Per Hour (working around 12 hours per week)– Osan Air Base Chapel, Republic of Korea

The Role

Are you a practising Roman Catholic with experience supporting faith formation and religious education? Do you enjoy organising meaningful programmes that help children, young people and families grow in their faith? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We are looking for a Catholic Religious Education Coordinator to oversee and coordinate a vibrant Catholic Religious Education programme. Working closely with the Catholic Priest/Chaplain, you will help deliver engaging faith formation opportunities for children, youth, adults and families while ensuring programmes run smoothly and in accordance with Roman Catholic teaching.

This is a flexible part-time position, working up to 12 hours per week (48 hours per month), with schedules agreed in advance to support planned activities and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Catholic Religious Education programmes for all age groups.
  • Support sacramental preparation, including First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Baptism.
  • Plan calendars, activities and programme schedules.
  • Work alongside Chapel staff, volunteers and ministry teams.
  • Help recruit, organise and support volunteer catechists.
  • Maintain student registrations, attendance and safeguarding records.
  • Ensure approved curriculum is delivered accurately and consistently.
  • Monitor programme effectiveness and support continuous improvement.

The Person:

  • A degree in Theology, Religious Studies or a related subject, or at least 10 years' experience teaching children in a religious education setting.
  • Experience coordinating Catholic Religious Education programmes (preferred).
  • The ability to obtain or work towards AMS Catechist Certification within 30 days of appointment.
  • The ability to complete all required background checks, safeguarding and VIRTUS training.
  • Excellent organisation, communication and record-keeping skills.
  • The ability to meet the requirements associated with supporting a Catholic Religious Education programme in accordance with the contract.
