CCAF Advisor - $18–$20 per hour, based on experience - Nellis AFB, NV

Do you have experience supporting students through academic planning and degree completion? Are you confident explaining education requirements clearly, while providing helpful front-line customer support?

The role

We are looking for a full-time CCAF Advisor to support the Nellis AFB Voluntary Education Program.

This is a 1099 contract role, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 0730 to 1630.

You will provide Community College of the Air Force academic advisement to service members, helping them understand degree requirements, progression routes, graduation timelines and available education resources.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Provide CCAF academic advice and guidance to students
  • Review and explain CCAF degree plans and degree audits
  • Support students with admissions, registration and graduation requirements
  • Explain credit routes, including DSST, CLEP and other assessment options
  • Use CCAF Online Services, AFVEC, AF COOL, AFAEMS and related systems
  • Support education fairs, CCAF graduations and diploma distribution
  • Represent the education team at the base Right Start Program
  • Handle telephone and in-person enquiries in a professional manner
  • Guide students on transcript ordering and degree completion processes
  • Support administrative, data management and customer service tasks
  • Assist with voluntary testing duties where required

The person

You will need:

  • At least an associate’s degree
  • One to three years of experience in higher education or academic counselling
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Confidence using education systems and online resources
  • Good attention to detail when handling records and student information
  • A professional, business casual approach
  • The ability to meet base access and security requirements
