Part-Time 1099 Contract | $18–$20 per hour, based on experience
20 hours per week | Minimum 80 hours per month

Do you enjoy coordinating faith-based activities, working with volunteers, and serving a Catholic community?

We are seeking a Catholic Religious Education Coordinator to support the Catholic Chaplain/Priest and Catholic community at Geilenkirchen NATO Air Base, Germany.

The Role

The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator will help plan, coordinate, and support Catholic religious education programs for children, adults, and families attending the Geilenkirchen NATO AB Chapel.

This includes sacramental preparation, RCIA, Vacation Bible School, seasonal programs, retreats, volunteer support, and religious education for families living remotely across the Tri-border community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Catholic religious education programs and events
  • Support RCIA, First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation, and seasonal programs
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteer Christian educators
  • Work with the Catholic Chaplain on calendars, budgets, curriculum, and program goals
  • Prepare flyers, bulletins, social media updates, and other publicity materials
  • Reserve rooms, coordinate facilities, and maintain program supplies
  • Track attendance, enrollment, reports, and program records
  • Support remote religious education using Zoom, Teams, or similar platforms
  • Attend required chapel, staff, and Catholic community meetings
  • Co-lead Vacation Bible School with the Protestant Religious Education Coordinator

The Person

The successful candidate must be an active, confirmed Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church and able to provide a pastor reference letter.

You will also need:

  • A bachelor’s degree or at least one year of Catholic Religious Education Coordinator/Director experience
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Good administrative and organizational skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Publisher
  • Ability to work well with chaplains, staff, volunteers, and parishioners
  • Archdiocese for the Military Services Catechist certification, or willingness to obtain it within six months
  • At least one year remaining on station
  • Own transportation
  • Ability to complete all required background checks
