This is an opportunity to join an established organisation operating across the construction and manufacturing sectors.

We are looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of day-to-day finance, reporting, budgeting and cost control across a group structure. You will work closely with senior management, helping the business make informed decisions through accurate figures, clear analysis and effective financial planning.

A key part of this role will be managing budgets, forecasts and job costings, ensuring projects and business activity are tracked accurately from a financial point of view. You will also oversee financial processes, support audits and ensure compliance with relevant ROI and NI tax requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting processes across the group, ensuring financial systems run smoothly and accurately.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, including profit and loss, balance sheets, cash flow reports and budgets.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and job costing activity, providing clear insight to support commercial decisions.
  • Review project and operational costs, highlighting risks, variances and areas for improvement.
  • Oversee debtor and creditor activity, banking, payroll processing and journal entries.
  • Support the design and management of sales commission structures, aligned with business goals.
  • Identify improvements to financial systems and processes to support accuracy and efficiency.
  • Act as the main contact for annual audits, ensuring records are prepared and compliant.
  • Manage tax and compliance requirements, including VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax and other filings.
  • Respond to financial queries from management, staff, customers, suppliers and Revenue authorities.

About our company

We are a growing business working across the construction and manufacturing sectors. The company has a practical, team-focused culture and values clear communication, accuracy and strong financial management.

The Benefits

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Supportive and collaborative working environment.
  • Opportunities for growth and development.
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Pension scheme.

The person

You will be a fully qualified accountant with at least three years’ experience in a financial control, management accounting or similar role. Experience within construction, manufacturing or a project-based environment would be highly beneficial.

You will have strong knowledge of ROI and NI tax and legal requirements, as well as experience using accounting software such as Sage. You will be confident managing audits, preparing reports and working with senior stakeholders.

You will also bring excellent attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to explain financial information in a clear and practical way.
