Sealegs / Aftersales Technician - £35,000 – £40,000 – Poole

Are you experienced in small vessel or RIB fit out and confident working with marine systems? Do you enjoy hands-on technical work, diagnostics, and delivering high-quality results both in the workshop and on-site?

Our client is a specialist marine engineering company, and they are looking for a Sealegs / Aftersales Technician to join their growing team in Poole.

The role

This is a practical, varied position focused on the build, servicing, and repair of small vessels, particularly Sealegs Amphibious RIBs. You will be responsible for ensuring vessels are safe, fully functional, and prepared to a high standard for use or delivery.

You will work both in the workshop and on-site, with regular travel across the UK and occasional overseas trips.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fit out small vessels (up to 12m) in line with specifications and technical drawings
  • Install marine components including consoles, seating, fuel systems, steering and outboard engines
  • Carry out basic electrical installation and fault-finding
  • Inspect, strip, and overhaul hulls, tubes, and fittings
  • Service and maintain Sealegs vessels, including aftercare support
  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections and sea trials
  • Commission and test hydraulic systems
  • Maintain accurate service records and produce inspection reports
  • Assist with quotations for repairs and upgrades
  • Promote service solutions and product upgrades where appropriate
  • Follow all workshop safety and quality procedures

The person

  • Proven experience in marine engineering, boatbuilding, or vessel fit out
  • Good mechanical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of marine electrical systems
  • Able to read and follow technical drawings
  • Comfortable using tools, adhesives, and sealants
  • Strong problem-solving approach
  • Willing to travel at short notice within the UK and occasionally overseas
  • Full UK driving licence and valid passport preferred
