Kaby Engineers is a well-established name in heavy earth-moving equipment manufacturing, and we are now looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Leicester.

The role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving the performance of our plant and machinery. Working a day shift, you will focus on reducing downtime and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out mechanical repairs on CNC machines, grinders, paint ovens, and welding equipment
  • Respond to breakdowns and resolve issues quickly to minimise disruption
  • Diagnose faults using a structured and methodical approach
  • Investigate reported issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
  • Support major refurbishment projects on plant and machinery when required

The person

We are looking for someone with a solid background in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or engineering setting.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience with fault-finding across systems such as Fanuc CNC, Mitsubishi PLC, Siemens, and relay logic
  • Strong mechanical experience across a range of engineering plant machinery
  • Knowledge of inverter drive controls
  • At least three years’ experience in an engineering manufacturing environment
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging technologies
  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to support wider mechanical tasks
