Finance Associate - $65,000 to $75,000 – Concord, NC (Hybrid)

Are you skilled at handling financial data with accuracy and care? Do you enjoy working with multiple teams to keep revenue processes organized and on track?

The role

The Finance Associate manages incoming funds, including donations, grants, borrower payments, and other revenue streams. This role ensures all transactions are recorded accurately and in line with GAAP and internal policies. You will work closely with program teams to maintain clear and timely financial records.

This position reports to the Controller and is non-exempt under FLSA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record all incoming funds in the accounting system with accuracy and timeliness
  • Partner with Credit Administration, Philanthropy, and program teams to ensure proper documentation and coding
  • Prepare and send program invoices
  • Maintain balance sheet schedules and supporting documentation
  • Support audit preparation, including gathering documents and preparing schedules
  • Assist with borrower payment processing and related activities
  • Ensure accurate tracking of donations, pledges, and fundraising activity
  • Support month-end close, including journal entries
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements
  • Manage bank account administration and documentation
  • Assist with improving processes and workflows
  • Provide backup support to the Staff Accountant
  • Take on special projects as needed

The person

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field (Bachelor’s preferred)
  • Five years of accounting experience or equivalent; nonprofit experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Comfortable using Excel and accounting systems
  • Clear communication and teamwork skills
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on improving processes
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Maintains confidentiality and professionalism
