Key Responsibilities:

  • Support with daily living activities, including personal care and mobility
  • Assist with washing, dressing, grooming and toileting
  • Help with meal preparation and feeding where required
  • Administer and support with prescribed medication
  • Carry out light household duties such as cleaning, laundry and shopping
  • Work alongside healthcare professionals including GPs and district nurses
  • Maintain accurate care records and follow care plans
  • Promote independence, dignity and choice at all times
  • Respond calmly and effectively to changing or emergency situations

The Person

To succeed as a Domiciliary Care Worker, you will need:

  • A caring and considerate nature
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions
  • Understanding of person-centred care
  • Willingness to provide personal care
  • Flexibility to meet service user needs

Desirable:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care or similar
  • Previous care experience
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
