The role

As Branch Manager / General Manager, you will lead the Montreal operations of Shortall Electric Ltd. and play a central role in the company’s continued growth.

This role gives you real authority and visibility. You will guide the sales and operations teams, introduce stronger processes, and help the business perform at a higher level.

You will work closely with ownership while taking responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the organization. Your leadership will help strengthen sales performance, improve operational structure, and create clearer accountability across the company.

This is a full-time, on-site leadership position based in Montreal, QC. Bilingual fluency in English and French is required to effectively support our customer base and manage relationships with our supplier partners.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will help the company grow while strengthening your own leadership impact.

  • Lead the business day-to-day
    You will guide operations and set clear expectations so teams stay aligned and accountable.
  • Drive stronger sales performance
    By improving customer acquisition, pipeline development, and account growth, you will help increase revenue and expand the company’s market presence.
  • Develop and coach the sales team
    Your leadership will help the team move beyond transactional selling and focus on proactive opportunities.
  • Protect and improve margin performance
    You will introduce structured pricing practices that support consistent decision-making and healthier margins.
  • Improve inventory and purchasing discipline
    Your oversight will help reduce aging stock, improve turnover, and ensure purchasing supports real demand.
  • Use data to guide decisions
    You will work with ERP reporting and dashboards to track sales, margin, and inventory performance.
  • Strengthen collaboration across teams
    By improving coordination between sales, purchasing, and warehouse operations, you will help the business run more efficiently.

You likely bring:

  • 8–15+ years of leadership experience
  • Experience in electrical distribution, industrial distribution, or B2B wholesale
  • A track record of leading sales and operational teams
  • Strong commercial awareness, including margin and pricing oversight
  • Experience improving sales execution and operational performance
  • Comfort working with ERP systems and performance reporting
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Fluency in English and French to support customers and manage relationships with supplier partners
  • Ability to work on-site in Montreal
